Azealia Banks’ Arrest Warrant Retracted Following Court Appearanceby Colin Stutz

attempted assault charges.

A New York judge set aside an arrest warrant for Azealia Banks, after the rapper appeared in court on Tuesday (March 7). Banks’ entertainment attorney John Vafa confirmed the news with Billboard

The arrest warrant was issued because Banks failed to appear in court on Monday for a hearing on misdemeanor assault and attempted assault charges related to a 2015 incident where she allegedly attacked a female security guard at a New York nightclub.

Vafa issued a statement on Tuesday saying Banks had mixed up her court date, thinking it was Wednesday, and was unable to attend because she was in France for Paris Fashion Week.

Remy Ma attends the Roc Nation pre-Grammy Brunch on Feb. 11, 2017 in Los Angeles.

Remy Ma got up-close and personal with Buzzfeed’s “Another Round” podcast on Tuesday (March 8) during a live interview, and no topic was off-limits for the outspoken rapper.

The Grammy-nominated MC spoke at length about her feud with Nicki Minaj post-“shETHER,” her thoughts on pregnancy and health care, plus the truths about life in prison for women.

Below are a few highlights from Remy Ma’s interview:

“It just bothers me that me picking apart another female is what went viral. We could’ve done this working together,” the rapper explains what went down behind-the-scenes with Minaj.

Pregnancy Struggles

After experiencing her second ectopic pregnancy, she realized a lot of women have been in the same position as her, but because of healthcare, she couldn’t afford in vitro fertilization.

“We have all these politicians that claim they’re pro-life, and that say women should not be able to get abortions and all this other stuff… there’s nothing more pro-life than helping a woman who wants to have a child have a child. Then I realized that health insurance doesn’t cover IVF. I could use my health insurance to not have a child if I want to, but I can’t use my health insurance to conceive.”

Women In Prison

Remy Ma’s six-year stint in prison gave her some insight on women and mass incarceration. She states that women in prison have a far worse experience than men in prison.

“I served time with women who went over a decade without anyone to come see them … And women get double the sentence a man would get for the same time. They feel like ‘You’re a woman, you’re supposed to be a nurturer… how dare you commit a crime?'”

Australian Man Who Impersonated Justin Bieber Online Charged With 931 Child Sex Offensesby Colin Stutz

A 42-year-old man in Queensland, Australia, has been charged with 931 child sex offenses after posing as Justin Bieber online in order to solicit explicit images from young children.

According to the Queensland Police, the man had previously been charged with numerous child sex offenses, including “possessing child exploitation material and using a carriage service to groom persons under 16.”

As part of that investigation, the man’s computer was examined and illicit material was discovered.

The man allegedly used Facebook, Skype and other online platforms to communicate with his victims with offenses dating back to at least 2007. He is now being charged on offenses of rape, indecent treatment of children, making child exploitation material, using a carriage service to procure person under 16, and using a carriage service for child pornography material.

“This investigation demonstrates both the vulnerability of children that are utilising social media and communication applications and the global reach and skill that child sex offenders have to groom and seduce victims,” Detective Inspector Jon Rouse said in a statement.

“The fact that so many children could believe that they were communicating with this particular celebrity highlights the need for a serious rethink about the way that we as a society educate our children about online safety. The breadth of offences committed in this instance are frankly horrendous and I want to recognise the efforts and commitment of the investigative team at Taskforce Argos to keeping children safe.”
