Fantasia is scheduled to return to the stage on Wednesday (March 8), just three days after skipping a show in Memphis due to second degree burns on her arms sustained on her tour bus. She’ll hit Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater alongside Johnny Gill on Charlie Wilson’s In It To Win It Tour.
“Jumped up and realized what don’t kill you will only make you stronger,” the former season three American Idol winner wrote on Instagram on Tuesday (March 7) night alongside a picture with her husband, Kendall Taylor, in which her right arm is visibly bandaged. “I think I’m a act up on stage tomorrow and I’m going back to get my SHOW! Yes, the devil tried his best to shut me up & out from “MEMPHIS” but I’ll soon come back to party w/ you.”
Fantasia Skips Memphis Performance After Suffering Second-Degree Burns
The R&B singer, who notched her second No. 1 debut on the R&B Albums chart last August with her project Definition, was slated to perform at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee, on Sunday as part of Wilson’s tour.
TMZ reported that the injury initially occurred when Barrino was sleeping on her tour bus on Sunday next to an aromatherapy vaporizer she uses to soothe her vocal cords. She reportedly rolled over onto the machine’s power cord, and the hot water inside spilled on her right forearm.
